Brooklyn Gold Roof and Courtyard Design, NY New York

Brooklyn Gold is Design Cell’s first project in New York City after the official open of the studio in 2008. The client, who is a seasoned developer, decided to install a recreational roof on the 13th floor and ‘visual’ courtyard on second floor of the building. With the recession hitting the US markets, and rise in the inventory of unoccupied housing spaces, it was bit of struggle for many ongoing housing projects to sell their units. Our client felt that adding an attractive amenity on the roof and on second floor will help to promote the project. We were excited by the challenge and were also aware of the budget constraints the client will have due to downturn in the housing market. The following report displays our approach from design documents to construction documents and how were able to handle the challenge. We ensured that our design intentions were never diluted, but at the same time kept our clients requirement in order to create a successful project.
