The building attempts to capture the spirit of a country home by seamlessly integrating with the garden. Glazed walls increase the visibility of the sky from within the residence. The central vestibule in the house is bathed in light from the skylight above. Rustic materials such as bricks, stone and wood work are used extensively to add warmth, without the residence losing its modernist identity or utility.
The dialogue with the landscape was intended to be more than just visual functional spaces from the residence spill into the garden in the form of open-to-sky paved courts and lounging areas. Verandahs and pergola-shaded patios bring about a gradual transition to the open. The building is flanked by a swimming pool and pavilions on one side, and a lawn with seating on the other, both of which are visually connected to each other.
